Gridley

There are many instances in which you may need to place multiple pictures side by side. If you want to create a photo collage, a thumbnails sheet or a storyboard, then you will definitely find Gridley to be quite useful. The application is capable of generating a single image from hundreds of other pictures instantly, and it places a good amount of customization controls at your disposal. Regardless of what you need to do, you can finish your work in less than one minute with this lightweight application.

Gridley is compatible with all modern Windows systems, and you can have it up and running in no time. The application doesn't require any special tools or services to be running on your computer, and it doesn't use a significant amount of resources. At the time of writing, the software doesn't come with a price tag yet, but you can try it out the free version, with some minor limitations.

The software combines your images automatically the moment you import them onto its clean and efficient user interface. By default, it displays them in a single column, but you can increase the number of columns, and make other changes, through a series of counters and drop-down menus, in the lower-left corner of the window. All changes are applied instantly and you can see them in a live preview, in the largest part of the interface, on its right side. You can also change the order of your images by moving them up and down in a list, directly above the customization controls.

Besides arranging your imported pictures on multiple columns, you can also increase their padding, set the same width for all images or leave the originals and set a border thickness. The software lets you store the output image in PNG, BMP or JPEG format, with different quality ratings, and you can also choose between different background colors. When you're satisfied with how the final product looks, you only need to hit the large Save button, in the lower-right corner of the interface, and the image will be saved instantly in a local folder.
